THE OMEGA BLACK COLLEGE TOUR
FOLLOWING IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF OUR HBCU FOREFATHERS.
The Omega Black College Tour (OBCT) is a long-standing educational initiative designed to expose high school students from New York City and the surrounding metropolitan area to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Sponsored by the Xi Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, and underwritten by Community Uplift Through Perseverance, Inc. (C.U.P., Inc.), the tour provides students with firsthand experience of college campuses, academic programs, and campus life at HBCUs across the country.

For more than 30 years, OBCT has supported students through mentoring, leadership development, and direct exposure to higher education opportunities. Since its founding in 1986, the tour has helped shape the futures of more than 1,500 young people by broadening their vision of what is possible.

WHY HBCUs MATTER:
Historically Black Colleges and Universities continue to play a critical role in 21st-century America. With strong offerings in STEM fields, smaller class sizes, robust support networks, and environments rooted in cultural affirmation and inclusion, HBCUs prepare students to become leaders in a knowledge-based, technological society.

This theme reflects the importance of honoring the legacy of those who built and sustained HBCUs while educating today’s students and families about their continued societal relevance. Through OBCT, young scholars gain an understanding of the history, impact, and opportunity that HBCUs represent.
WHO THE TOUR SERVES:
- High school students enrolled in schools across New York City and the greater metropolitan area
- Families seeking college exposure and guidance
- Students interested in leadership development and higher education pathways
The Omega Black College Tour is more than a trip — it is an investment in the next generation of leaders, scholars, and change-makers.
